Social Media Training
Over the years we have been providing training in this area we’ve learned that the modular approach is the most popular. We generally offer 3 modules:
  • A lunchtime awareness session (normally 1-1hr 30mins), covering the key elements of web2 and examples of its use in the international development sector;
  • A one day session (10am - 4pm), popular for NGO information managers wanting to get a complete overview with some hands-on;
  • Two days training course; in depth practical exploration of blogs, feeds, calendars, social bookmarking and wikis. Feed management, publishing and statistics are also covered.
Organisations and social media
We also increasingly offer in-house training sessions for organisations that want to put in place collaborative environments based on social media technologies.

Mainstreaming Social Media
Many of the organisations we work with in Europe are now using these tools to a greater or lesser degree. In the majority of those, however, these developments have emerged piecemeal rather than being part of a strategic approach to communications. We are beginning to develop ‘Web squared’ support, where we work with organisations to review how to integrate the use of the new media into everyday Communication, Information and Knowledge management processes. An important part of this training is involves engaging with management to increase awareness of opportunities and challenges.
