Imposed development and governance models focus for Eurostep discussions at WSF 2007

Eurostep and partners organised three workshops on European aid at the 2007 World Social Forum in Nairobi.

The objective was to "analyse the extent to which the European Union forces developing countries to follow certain development and governance models by adding conditionalities to its aid programmes." Hence, the worshops looked at the political and legal framework for the European Community development policy and the way aid is delivered to the ACP group of states, Asia and Latin America, and neighbouring countries in the Mediterranean, Southern Caucasus and Eastern Europe.
