The deep crisis situation unfolding in Afganistan is the focus of a debate organised by IPS Europe on May 8 in the European Parliament (Room A5G2, Spinelli Building, Brussels).
Pasqualina Napoletano, Vice-Chairwoman, Socialist Group in the European Parliament, and Ramesh Jaura, European Director, IPS-Inter Press Service, will introduce the issue and set the tone for the discussions: What to do? And what role can Europe play in this situation? To what extend the lack of an information and communication strategy is at stake? Among others, Nick Grono (International Crisis Group) and Ricardo Grassi (IPS-Inter Press Service) will provide some perspectives on these issues, offering insights and food for thought for the debate.
